AEW Europe grows French logistics footprint

Global real estate investor AEW Europe has purchased a portfolio of urban logistics properties in France, totalling around 97,000 m2.

The portfolio consists of five assets located in Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, and Valence, including both urban warehouses and last-mile logistics facilities. These properties are fully leased to reliable tenants, with an average lease length of 4.6 years. 
Constructed to a high standard, three of the assets have achieved BREEAM or Haute Qualité Environnementale (HQE) certification for their sustainability features, such as LED lighting, Building Management Systems (BMS), and photovoltaic panels.
This acquisition comes after AEW Europe's purchase of a 37,000 m2 logistics property in Corbas, near Lyon, and a 32,000 m2 logistics asset in Lomme, Lille.
The entire portfolio now encompasses approximately 166,500 m2 of prime urban logistics space across seven properties, with 95% occupancy and an average lease length of 6.4 years. 
AEW Europe will manage the portfolio, focusing on sustainability improvements like installing photovoltaic panels on carports and BMS in all properties, as well as obtaining "BiodiverCity" certification.
