AG Real Estate has announced the sale of 50% of the shares in Portici and Toleda Invest, the companies holding The Mint shopping centre, to QRF, a Belgian-listed real estate investment fund.

The Mint, Brussels
This transaction is part of AG Real Estate's strategy to realise value from mature assets while maintaining active management.
Following the sale, AG Real Estate and QRF will operate The Mint as equal joint venture partners, with AG Real Estate continuing to handle asset and property management. The Mint, previously the Muntcentrum, underwent a significant renovation in 2017 and is now a prominent 12,828 m2 retail complex with 2,287 m2 of archive space. It is fully integrated into Brussels' prime shopping street, Nieuwstraat/Rue Neuve, offering a ground floor, commercial mezzanine, metro-connected gallery, and underground levels for storage and parking.
The complex hosts 25 national and international brands, including Uniqlo, HEMA, Decathlon, and Medi Market. In 2025, The Mint recorded 7.8 million visitors and over €66 mln in combined retailer turnover, a 12% increase from 2023-2025. Its strategic location, multimodal accessibility, and position at the intersection of shopping centre and high street retail make it a crucial hub in Brussels, directly connected to public transport and major pedestrian zones. This central role is further enhanced by ongoing redevelopment projects in the vicinity, such as the former Anspach Galleries and the OXY project, which are transforming the surrounding urban environment.
Tatiana Posa, head of Transactions at AG Real Estate, commented: With the sale of 50% of the shares in the companies that own The Mint, we crystallise part of the value created in recent years, while remaining fully involved in the management and future development of this iconic building. By partnering with QRF, we are choosing a Belgian partner that shares our conviction in inner-city retail and in the potential of Brussels city centre.”
William Vanmoerkerke, CEO of QRF, explained: “With the acquisition of a 50% stake in the shares of the companies that own this iconic urban commercial complex, QRF strengthens its portfolio in a unique prime location, on Belgium’s busiest shopping axis. This transaction marks our entry into Brussels city centre, a market in which we see long-term growth potential.”
On the seller’s side, the transaction was advised by CBRE, JLL and Loyens & Loeff.
