Argan expands Normandy footprint with two new Ferrero logistics hubs
Real estate developer Argan has acquired two newly completed logistics hubs near Rouen, Normandy, in France

Ferrero Cléon site in Normandy
Totalling 54,000 m2, both facilities have been handed over to confectionery giant Ferrero.
Developed by SPI Group and delivered in May 2026, the Cléon site is located south of the Rouen metropolitan area and serves as Ferrero’s primary logistics backbone for northern France.
Spanning 34,000 m2 (including 1,400 m2 of office space), the site features five warehouse units holding up to 50,000 pallets. It is positioned near the A13 motorway for rapid transit.
The facility has earned the AutOnom label and is tracking a BREEAM "Excellent" certification. Its eco-friendly design includes an on-site 660 kWp rooftop solar power plant paired with a 200 kWh battery storage setup.
Situated to the north of Rouen, the Barentin facility was delivered in early July 2026. The 20,000 m2 facility allocates roughly one-third of its footprint to cold storage, with the remaining two-thirds dedicated to temperature-controlled storage.
A 790 kWp rooftop photovoltaic system generates independent green electricity on site, preventing 33 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
Ferrero’s two new hubs form a fully integrated supply chain tailored around the Group's iconic Villers-Écalles plant—the world’s largest hazelnut spread production site, which manufactures 600,000 jars per day.
The Barentin site supplies raw ingredients directly to the Villers-Écalles manufacturing plant, while the Cléon location handles the storage and distribution of finished confectionery products.
This large-scale industrial investment is secured by 10-year fixed-term leases for both locations.
Ronan Le Lan, chairman of Argan’s Executive Board, commented: “With these two new acquisitions, we remain on track with our ambitious €165 mln investment programme for 2026 alone, while further reinforcing our position as France’s leading logistics real estate company.”
