Barings appoints country head of Germany

Global diversified real estate investment manager Barings has appointed Sébastian Cavé as managing director and country head for Germany.

In this role, Cavé will spearhead Barings' real estate equity operations in Germany, encompassing origination, portfolio execution, and client relations.
Based in Frankfurt, he will be responsible for overseeing all transaction activity within the German market, as well as managing all asset management activities related to Barings' German portfolio. Working in close collaboration with his regional colleagues, he will contribute to the platform's strategy and support the expansion of the wider European real estate business.
Cavé joins Barings from Heitman, where he previously led their German real estate business. His responsibilities there included overseeing origination and execution across the entire risk spectrum, managing over €1.5 bn in Living-focused Assets Under Management (AUM), and leading a multidisciplinary team covering investment, asset, and portfolio management.
