BauMont enters Nordic market

BauMont Real Estate Capital, the value‑add investment manager within M&G Real Estate, has entered the Nordic market through the acquisition of three residential properties in central Stockholm, completing the first investments under its €500 million residential programme with local operating partner SBF. 

The three assets, located in Vasastan and Norrmalm, comprise 85 apartments and commercial premises in two of Stockholm’s most sought‑after districts, characterised by strong amenities and transport connectivity. BauMont and SBF plan to actively manage the properties, undertaking targeted upgrades to selected apartments and common areas to enhance resident experience and strengthen long‑term asset quality.

The acquisitions align with BauMont’s strategy of targeting well‑located European assets with potential for repositioning and value creation. Backed by M&G Real Estate’s €39 billion platform, BauMont combines its investment expertise with SBF’s origination capabilities, local market knowledge and integrated operational platform.

Terje Björsell, CEO of SBF Fonder, said the acquisitions mark an important step in building the partnership’s presence in Stockholm. “With more than 20 years of experience in the Swedish residential market, we are now putting that knowledge into practice through these first acquisitions,” he said.
