German real estate company Baywobau Group has increased its stake in German residential provider Domicil Real Estate to 49.9%.

Domicil Real Estate management
This transaction involved the sale of shares by former majority shareholder and CEO, Khaled Kaissar, who now retains a 24.9% stake. Baywobau had previously acquired some shares and provided a €10 mln working capital loan to Domicil in early 2025.
In conjunction with this change, David Hofmann, managing partner of Baywobau, will join Domicil's Management Board as CDO. Other shareholders, including Roland Berger, Donner & Reuschel, Versicherungskammer, and Die Bayerische, have given their approval to these developments.
Domicil is also in the process of a structured capital increase with institutional investors. The company plans to use the funds from this capital increase and the strengthened partnership with Baywobau to expand its privatization business starting in 2025, anticipating continued growth in demand for investment properties.
Baywobau Group has extensive experience in key German markets like Munich, Leipzig, Dresden, and Berlin. It has been in close cooperation with the Hofmann family since early 2024.
Klaus Schmitt, CEO of the Domicil Real Estate Group, said: “Baywobau is very familiar with our business model and shares our values and strategic direction. Our skills and experience complement each other perfectly. This is a significant step towards further strengthening and expanding our market position. We are therefore delighted to welcome Baywobau as our new majority shareholder and David Hofmann as our new CDO to our Management Board."
Khaled Kaissar, former CEO and Supervisory Board member of Domicil, commented: "With Baywobau, Domicil gains a strong majority shareholder, opening up new strategic growth opportunities for the company. The Hofmann family is interested in a sustainable and strategic investment in the interests of Domicil. Therefore, it was an easy decision for me to hand over Domicil, my life's work, to the new majority shareholders. I look forward to continuing what will surely be a successful collaboration."
David Hofmann, managing partner of Baywobau, added: "Domicil is the leading residential real estate privatization company in Germany, with an impressive sales network and expertise. Combined with our capital strength and expertise, this creates exciting synergies. I am very much looking forward to the future and the opportunity to intensify our collaboration with existing shareholders as a shareholder and CDO on the Management Board."
Domicil Real Estate offers investment and real estate management services to tenants, owner-occupiers, and investors across Germany. The company specializes in buying and selling residential properties, acquiring medium to large apartment portfolios, and quickly reselling them.
