UK BTR developer and investment and asset manager BlueCastle Capital has purchased the old Marks & Spencer flagship store on Birmingham's High Street.

Marks and Spencers - The Pavilions, Birmingham
This prime location on 42 High Street, near the future Curzon Street HS2 Station, will be transformed into a major residential development with high-quality, sustainable build-to-rent homes and amenities.
This acquisition is a key part of BlueCastle's strategy to develop its UK build-to-rent fund.
Ed Williams, CEO of BlueCastle Capital, commented: “This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a landmark residential development at the heart of one of the UK’s fastest-growing cities. Birmingham’s connectivity, culture and momentum make it a key city for our long-term strategy, and the site’s strategic location next to the HS2 terminus makes it a critical piece in the city’s regeneration puzzle."
This acquisition in Birmingham is part of BlueCastle Capital's larger plan to develop over 1,500 build-to-rent homes across several UK cities, including Stevenage, Cardiff, and Sheffield.
