Bonava divests rental housing project in Sweden

Northern European residential developer Bonava is commencing construction and simultaneously selling a new rental housing project in Sigtuna, Sweden.

The project, comprising 91 cooperative rental apartments, is being sold to a joint venture formed by Urban Partners (formerly Nrep), Granitor, and Justim. The property is valued at SEK 363 mln (€31.2 mln), with the buyer financing the project through instalment payments during construction. Completion of the homes is anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2027.
These cooperative rental apartments are designed for seniors, requiring at least one household member to be 65 or older, and include additional services. This initiative aims to address the increasing demand for senior housing, fostering community and resident participation.
Named Visthuset, the project offers a distinctive living experience with a glass-covered courtyard and an Italian-inspired piazza. It is situated within Sigtuna stadsängar, a district co-developed by Bonava and Sigtunahem, emphasising social, economic, and ecological sustainability. The district is nearly energy self-sufficient, thanks to a local heating plant that utilises solar, air, and ground energy.
