As part of the strategic partnership, Caerus founder and CEO Michael Morgenroth will join CapMan's Management Group as managing partner for the newly formed CapMan Real Asset Debt investment division.
Caerus, managing €700 mln in assets across seven active funds and having raised €2.6 bn since its inception in 2014, specializes in customized real estate debt financing in the DACH and Benelux regions.
This partnership strengthens CapMan's position in real asset investments and broadens its reach in continental Europe. CapMan Real Asset Debt complements CapMan's existing real estate, infrastructure, and natural capital strategies, supporting the company's goal of reaching €10 bn in assets under management.
The collaboration will provide Caerus with access to CapMan Real Estate's strong presence in the Nordic region, which enhances Caerus's established coverage in the DACH and Benelux markets. CAERUS will also leverage CapMan's asset management capabilities, sustainability expertise, comprehensive platform services, and balance sheet investments to support fundraising for future funds, further boosting its growth trajectory.
Pia Kåll, CEO of CapMan, said: “This is a significant step for CapMan. Real asset debt is a natural addition to our offering, and I’m excited to join forces with Michael and his team. Their experience and entrepreneurial mindset align perfectly with CapMan’s values”.
Michael Morgenroth, Caerus CEO and managing partner at CapMan Real Asset Debt, added: “Everyone involved is delighted that the collaboration can now really get underway. This new set-up is also reflected in a slight adaptation of our logo, which will additionally be labelled ‘by CapMan’. The current environment poses major challenges for many market participants. This opens many opportunities for a broadly positioned asset manager to support existing and new clients and demonstrate its expertise and market know-how”.
