Castello Sgr acquires Sicily resort for €100m redevelopment

Italian alternative asset manager Castello Sgr has acquired the Calampiso Resort in Western Sicily.

This acquisition, conducted through Castello’s Hospitality Italian Infrastructure Platform (HIIP), involves a total investment of approximately €100 mln, covering both the purchase and a significant redevelopment.
The plan is to transform the 150,000 m2 complex near San Vito Lo Capo and the Zingaro Nature Reserve, with its 250 rooms and apartments, into an ultra-luxury destination by 2029, in partnership with a major international hotel brand. 
This marks Castello Sgr's first investment in Sicily, following recent acquisitions in Lake Como and Courmayeur, reinforcing HIIP's strategy of re-valuing iconic properties.
