CBRE IM names Phillipa Grant as EMEA Direct Sustainability lead

CBRE Investment Management (CBRE IM) has appointed Phillipa Grant as senior director, EMEA Direct Investment Strategy.

In this role, she will be responsible for spearheading the execution of the firm’s Sustainability Vision across its European direct real estate operations.

Based in London, Grant will report to Helen Gurfel, CBRE IM’s global head of Sustainability & Innovation. She will collaborate closely with various internal teams, including investment, asset management, portfolio, and operational teams, to integrate sustainability throughout the entire investment lifecycle. Her responsibilities will encompass fostering operational excellence, improving investment performance, and solidifying CBRE IM’s reputation as a top sustainable investment manager in the European real estate market.

Grant brings over 13 years of experience in the sustainability sector to CBRE IM. She previously served as Sustainable Investments director at Aviva Investors, where she oversaw sustainable investment strategies across private markets. Before that, she began her career as an environmental engineer and possesses extensive expertise in sustainability strategy, stewardship, regulatory engagement, and industry leadership.

Grant is a Chartered Engineer with a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and holds several industry accreditations in sustainable real asset development and investment.
