Deka Immobilien acquires cold storage logistics hub near Rotterdam

Deka Immobilien has purchased a top-tier cold storage logistics centre called "VDH Cooling" in the Dutch Fresh Port, close to Rotterdam.

The seller was a joint venture between Melcombe Partners and GIC. This property will be added to Deka-ImmobilienGlobal's real estate fund, though the purchase price was not disclosed.

The "VDH Cooling" property is a modern, fully occupied facility spanning about 29,700 square meters. Its sole tenant, VDH Forwarding & Warehousing, specialises in food logistics and uses advanced box-in-box cooling systems for temperature control. Completed in late 2025, the property is strategically located near the Port of Rotterdam, offering excellent access to motorways, inland port terminals, and the rail network.

The property boasts a BREEAM 'Excellent' sustainability certification and features a rooftop energy system with solar panels and battery storage. This acquisition provides Deka-ImmobilienGlobal with a high-quality logistics property that meets strong ESG standards in the crucial cold-chain logistics sector, also helping to diversify the fund's portfolio with more logistics assets.
