Die Developer Projektentwicklung and the Gustav Zech Foundation have jointly purchased the Bredeney office park in Essen.

Brederney office park, Essen
The acquisition, which was previously in insolvency, is set to be finalised in the first quarter of 2026. This purchase will allow for a clear development strategy and a modern overall concept for the property.
The Bredeney office park, constructed in 1996, is located in Essen's Bredeney district and features a total of 36,285 m² of rentable space across two buildings. One of the buildings, facing Hatzper Straße, will be transformed into the new Essen Police Headquarters. Die Developer Projektentwicklung will manage the extensive structural and technical renovations of this approximately 25,000 m² section, including significant modernisations and technical separation of building areas.
The second building of the office park will be acquired by a company under the Gustav Zech Foundation for its real estate portfolio. This building will continue to function as a multi-tenant property, offering appealing spaces to various businesses and organisations.
Stefan H. Mühling, managing director of die developer Projektentwicklung, said: “The acquisition and planned development create a coherent and sustainable overall concept that will strengthen the Bredeney office park in the long term and make a significant contribution to the urban development of the site.”
The insolvency administrator commented: “Despite the current very difficult market situation for office properties, we have succeeded in finding reliable buyers in developer Projektentwicklung and the Gustav Zech Foundation, who will offer the site a new perspective and continue the project development already underway for the new Essen Police Headquarters.”
