European asset manager DWS has purchased a new logistics facility in Borgo San Giovanni, in Italy’s Lombardy region, for its institutional real estate fund Europe II.

DWS Lodi logistics
The property in the Province of Lodi is fully leased long-term to global logistics provider DHL.
Completed in December 2025, the 31,500 m2 facility is strategically located near the Lodi motorway interchange.
It was built to the highest environmental standards, adhering to European Taxonomy and aiming for LEED Platinum certification. The building features a 1.6 MWp solar panel system that will cover all its energy needs.
Additionally, the project included local infrastructure improvements like a new road and a cycle path.
Giuseppe Colombo, head of Real Estate Italy at DWS, said: “This transaction underscores our strategy and demonstrates DWS's ability to identify high-quality logistics properties in Italy that meet the requirements of international operators.”
Federico Palmieri, head of Transaction Real Estate Italy at DWS, added: “The transaction with DHL reflects our strategic investment approach, which places a strong emphasis on quality and ESG standards. Deals like this reinforce the importance of logistics as a core asset class within DWS's real estate strategies.”
