ECE Work & Live Rebrands as ParkProperty Europe

ECE Work & Live, a real estate company owned by the Otto family, has rebranded as ParkProperty Europe.

This change is part of a larger strategy by the ECE Group to differentiate its operating companies based on their specific market segments.
ParkProperty Europe will now operate under the transatlantic ParkProperty brand, which focuses on residential real estate and has a presence in Europe, the U.S., and Canada. The new name is intended to better reflect the company's core business as a pan-European real estate investor and developer, while the ECE brand will continue to concentrate on retail real estate.
This rebranding simplifies the organisational structure, though the company's team, strategy, management, staff, and existing contracts and projects all remain unchanged. ParkProperty Europe will continue to develop a full range of residential properties, from affordable housing to high-end condominiums.
The company has more than 8,500 completed, planned, or managed residential units and entire urban districts, over 4,500 hotel rooms, and more than 30 logistics centres totalling 1.6 million m2.
Current projects include residential developments in major European cities like Barcelona, Rome, and Warsaw, the mixed-use "TIDE" quarter in Hamburg, Ruby Hotels in Copenhagen and Rome, and a large omnichannel logistics hub for the bookseller Thalia.
Henrie W. Kötter, CEO of ParkProperty Europe, said: “With ParkProperty Europe, we continue to present ourselves as a company of the Otto family, but now under a brand that better reflects our strategic and content-related focus than the retail-specialised ECE brand. ParkProperty Europe is a financially strong pan-European developer and investor with broad local experience, deep professional expertise, and an international perspective.”
Jan-Hendrik Walloch, managing director Investment at ParkProperty Europe, commented: “We opportunistically invest in Europe where and when we identify potential and growth – as a sole investor, in joint ventures and co-investments, as well as in fund structures – with our own equity, deep local market knowledge, and clear responsibilities. In doing so, we can draw on a well-established European network that has grown over many decades.”
Katja Freese, managing director Development at ParkProperty Europe, added: “Our goal is to develop properties that are economically viable, functionally compelling, and sustainably attractive – ensuring long-term success. With our projects, we create value for users, communities, investors, and financing partners alike. This user-centric mindset shapes our work in the residential, hospitality and industrial segments.”
