This move aligns with the company's strategy to diversify its investments across operational real estate.
The new platform will be headed by Hugo Steen and Dorian Dreyfus, who previously worked at Principal Asset Management and are reuniting with Thornton, the former CEO Real Estate Europe of Principal Asset Management.
Steen and Dreyfus have extensive experience in hotel investment and development throughout Europe and will be in charge of developing Enterprise Land's strategy in the hotel sector. Steen formerly held the position of Head of Hotel and Leisure Investments at Principal Asset Management, where he led hotel investment activities across multiple jurisdictions and guided the division's post-Covid strategy. Dreyfus was formerly Director of Project Management in the same team.
This launch follows Enterprise Land's recent introduction of Casa, its purpose-built student accommodation brand, and is part of the company’s broader goal of establishing sector-specific investment platforms across Europe.
Andrew Thornton, founder and chief executive of Enterprise Land, said: “Hotels are a natural next step for us. Operational real estate is where we see long-term value, and Hugo and Dorian bring exceptional insight, networks and execution capabilities in this space. With their leadership, we are well positioned to build a distinctive and scalable hotel platform across Europe".
Hugo Steen, head of hotels at Enterprise Land, added: "I'm thrilled to join Enterprise Land and to be rejoining Andrew at this exciting stage. Enterprise Land's forward-thinking approach, combining operational real estate expertise with cutting-edge technology, perfectly aligns with my vision for value creation in the hotel investment sector. The synergy between hotels and the purpose-built student accommodation sectors offers significant opportunities”.
