Garbe Industrial Real Estate UK is expanding its UK presence with the acquisition of a 49,000 m² site near Liverpool in Skelmersdale.

Skelmersdale
The company plans to develop a 23,000 m² logistics center on the site, which boasts excellent access to the M58 and M6 motorways.
The planned facility will feature 22,000 m² of warehouse space, 1,000 m² of office space, ample parking for cars and HGVs, and EV charging stations.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the building will have solar panels and target BREEAM Excellent and EPC A ratings.
Garbe intends to hold the property long-term, focusing on meeting current and future tenant needs.
Chris Hornung, country head and managing director of Garbe Industrial Real Estate UK, said: "Logistics facilities in this size bracket are in extremely short supply in the Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham triangle. It was very reassuring for us that we managed to secure this prime property. The acquisition of the Skelmersdale site fits perfectly with our ambition of buying sites in undersupplied markets. The warehouse height of 15 meters and the power supply capacity of 1.5 megavolt amperes make this unit attractive not just for logistics and e-commerce companies but also for light manufacturing companies with high electricity needs."
This Skelmersdale project is Garbe UK's second significant logistics investment, following its August 2024 UK entry with the acquisition of the 51,000 m² Worksop Link development, due for completion in August 2025.
