GLP completes first forward purchase in Spain

Global logistics real estate company GLP is expanding its footprint in southern Madrid through its first forward purchase transaction in Spain.

A fund managed by GLP has acquired a 25,500 m2 plot in Getafe and plans to develop a 16,000 m2 logistics warehouse in partnership with developer MCA, part of BCM Group.
This project, slated for completion in Q3 2025, reinforces GLP's dedication to the region. 
The single-tenant facility will feature 7% office space, ample parking (124 light vehicle and 17 truck spaces), and a prime location near major highways (A-4 and M-50), making it highly accessible to central Madrid and the airport. 
Designed with sustainability in mind, the facility aims for BREEAM Excellent certification and an A energy rating, incorporating a photovoltaic plant and substantial electrical capacity. 
The site's proximity to established industrial areas and major companies like Amazon and Carrefour further enhances its strategic value.

Part of Ares Management Real Estate, GLP currently has a portfolio of 12 logistics buildings in Spain, covering a total surface area of nearly 400,000 m2.
