Greystar acquires Native Communities

Native Communities, a UK operator of living and mixed-use properties, has been acquired by Greystar, a global rental housing investment, development, and management provider.

Over the past decade, Native has expanded its portfolio from 5 to 37 assets, now managing over 9,000 homes across England, Scotland, and Wales for more than 25 clients. Its success is attributed to strong operational execution, net operating income (NOI) optimisation, stringent building safety and compliance, and detailed client reporting.

The combination of Greystar's global scale and systems with Native's local operational expertise and client relationships will establish a dedicated pan-European third-party property management platform. This new platform will cater to clients ranging from those with single assets to complex, multi-country portfolios.

Greystar plans to operate the third-party property management business and its owned investment portfolio as distinct business lines. This separation aims to ensure the integrity of interests and a clear focus on long-term performance for both entities. This acquisition is seen as a significant and logical step in Native's evolution, enabling it to deliver enhanced performance and expertise on a larger scale.
