GTC streamlines Polish operations under new leadership structure

CEE commercial real estate developer GTC has announced a reorganisation of its leadership team in Poland.

Under this new model, Danny Bercovich will assume responsibility for overall operations in Poland in addition to his existing role overseeing the Group’s entire retail segment. He succeeds outgoing country manager Agnieszka Ciupak, who led the company through a period of significant operational development and portfolio management initiatives over the last three years.

The Polish business will now be divided operationally by asset class. While the local retail structure remains unchanged—with Julita Kubalska continuing as head of Retail Leasing and director of Galeria Północna, and Anna Borecka as director of Galeria Jurajska—the office segment will be managed locally by Łukasz Jarzyło.

Jarzyło’s role has been expanded to commercial director, where he will leverage over 20 years of experience to manage leasing, asset management, and technical operations for GTC’s ~200,000 m2 office portfolio across six Polish cities. He will operate within the matrix structure under the direct oversight of Ziv Gigi, GTC’s Group head of the Office Segment.

This alignment in Poland mirrors GTC’s broader organisational strategy across all its markets in Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Serbia, and Croatia, where local market execution is combined with centralised, Group-level oversight of key business lines by Bercovich (Retail) and Gigi (Office).

Ziv Gigi brings nearly two decades of industry experience to his role, having joined GTC in 2008 and previously serving as CFO and country manager in key SEE markets. Danny Bercovich, a 17-year GTC veteran, has successfully led the Group's retail business across all markets, strengthening shopping centre performance and occupancy.

Botond Rencz, CEO of GTC Group, commented: "Our matrix organisation enables us to move beyond geographic structures and organise around the core real estate sectors in which we operate. The changes we are introducing will bring our Polish operations even closer to the Group's business platforms, enabling greater collaboration, faster decision-making and effective use of expertise from across the organisation. Danny's and Ziv's long-standing experience within GTC, combined with their deep understanding of our portfolio, tenants and markets, make them ideally positioned to lead our business across the Group's markets."

Ziv Gigi, executive director CEE – Office Assets, said: “Occupiers are placing increasing emphasis on operational efficiency, flexibility and user experience. Our goal is to ensure that our office properties continue to meet these expectations while creating long-term value for all stakeholders, including tenants, investors and local communities.”

Łukasz Jarzyło, commercial director, GTC Poland, stated: “I am excited to take on this role and continue building on GTC's strong position in the Polish office market. My priority will be to further strengthen relationships with our tenants, enhance the quality of our office management, and ensure we continue delivering workplaces that meet the evolving needs of our customers.”

Danny Bercovich, executive director CEE – Retail Assets, added: "Poland remains one of the most mature and competitive real estate markets in the region. A new structure centred on industry sectors empowers our teams to share expertise, learn from one another, and leverage the full strength of our regional network."
