Harbert European Real Estate has appointed Lennard Gehrmann as vice president in its investment team, adding capacity as the platform targets opportunities across operational living, multi‑let industrial and powered land for data centres.

Lennard Gehrmann
Based in London, he will work across Harbert’s London, Paris and Madrid offices on sourcing, underwriting and executing investments.
Gehrmann joins from KKR, where he was a principal in its real estate private equity division, working on transactions for the firm’s European core‑plus and value‑add strategies. His experience spans sourcing, underwriting and execution across markets including the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and the Nordics. Prior to KKR, he spent nearly three years at Cerberus Capital Management focusing on real estate private equity and non‑performing loan acquisitions.
His appointment supports Harbert’s focus on selected European markets where demand is resilient and new supply remains constrained. The platform combines local sourcing relationships with a pan‑European approach to assessing relative value, with disciplined entry pricing and value creation through active asset management at the centre of its strategy.
Florent Danset, senior managing director and co‑head of European real estate at Harbert management corporation, said Gehrmann’s pan‑European experience will complement the firm’s local teams and strengthen its ability to assess emerging opportunities rigorously. He noted that attracting talented professionals is central to deepening Harbert’s investment coverage.
Gehrmann said Harbert’s established European platform, track record and entrepreneurial culture were key attractions, highlighting the continuity of the team and its disciplined investment approach.
The appointment follows the arrival of Matilda Williams as managing director and head of European capital formation in July 2026. Williams leads client engagement across Harbert’s real asset strategies, including European and US real estate, power and seniors housing.
