The €200 mln (£167 mln) agreement encompasses the design, construction, financing, and 50-year operation of several student residential facilities.
The project is a critical component of the University’s "Vision 2031" strategy to accommodate a growing student body of 30,000.
Key deliverables by 2029 include construction of 1,092 modern student units across the Connaught and South Stoneham campuses, the extensive refurbishment of 399 existing rooms and the restoration of the Grade II listed Stoneham House, a prominent historic landmark on campus.
A core focus of the development is environmental and social responsibility. The new buildings are engineered for emission-free operations, aiming to surpass the UK’s stringent Net Zero Carbon (NZC) targets.
Additionally, the contract pledges a 10% increase in affordable accommodation within the university’s overall housing portfolio.
The consortium partners have delivered approximately 30,000 student beds in the UK to date.
