John Mattson and Besqab form residential JV in Stockholm

Residential property developers John Mattson and Besqab have teamed up to create a joint venture for two new residential projects in the Stockholm area.

The first project, Fyrtornet 5 on Lidingö, will include around 89 tenant-owner apartments. The second, Koltrasten 1 in Solna, will have about 250 apartments, a mix of both tenant-owner and rental units.

This partnership brings together John Mattson's expertise in developing and managing rental properties and Besqab's focus on tenant-owner apartments.

Per Nilsson, CEO of John Mattson, stated: “The collaboration with Besqab is well aligned with our strategy to grow through project development. Through these projects, we establish a presence in Solna, which is a prioritised municipality for us. We have long experience in developing rental housing for long-term ownership and, through the collaboration, we can combine this with Besqab’s expertise in tenant-owner apartment development. The collaboration is long-term, and the ambition is to expand the joint venture with additional projects.”
