They plan to build about 150 tenant-owned apartments there, with construction starting in late 2028 and residents moving in by late 2030. This deal is contingent on the area's development plan being finalised.

The Slakthusområdet is transforming into a vibrant urban hub with homes, schools, offices, and services, boosted by a new metro line opening in 2030.

Klövern focuses on the Stockholm area and other major Swedish cities such as Uppsala, Gothenburg, Malmö, Västerås, Linköping and Nyköping. It currently has plans for around 19,000 homes and manages over 600 existing homes.

Sofia Bredberg Hanser, Business Development manager at Klövern, said: “The Slakthus area is one of Stockholm's most interesting development areas, where the combination of proximity to the inner city, good infrastructure and a growing range of services creates very good conditions for high demand and a successful project.”

Mathias Wallestam, CEO at Klövern, added: “The project is in line with our strategy to develop housing in attractive locations with an emphasis on the Stockholm region and helps to ensure a project portfolio with good execution power over time.”

Walthon advised Klövern.
