A new Investment Fund designed to stimulate economic growth, job creation, and the development of future-ready housing and transport will be unveiled, alongside the significant investor benefits available via the City Region’s Investment Zone.
Plans for a new Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) are expected to accelerate regeneration in Liverpool’s North Docks, bridging the city centre and Everton FC’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock. This initiative aims to deliver 17,500 new homes and 465,000 m2 of commercial space.
Plans for a new Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) are expected to accelerate regeneration in Liverpool’s North Docks, bridging the city centre and Everton FC’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock. This initiative aims to deliver 17,500 new homes and 5 million sq ft of commercial space.
Liverpool was recently named the UK's "hottest property destination," recording an 8.5% rise in house prices—driven by affordability and strong rental demand—effectively defying broader national trends.
With world-class universities and one of the UK’s highest student retention rates (over 76%), the City Region continues to expand its high-tier talent pool. The Liverpool City Region Growth Plan aims to expand the current £43.3 bn (€52 bn) economy by an additional £10 bn (€12 bn). This strategy emphasises collaboration between the public sector, industry, and academia to drive innovation in life sciences, advanced materials, and AI.
A primary highlight of the portfolio is the £5 bn (€6 bn) plan to transform the area surrounding Liverpool Central Station, creating a modernised transport hub and mixed-use destination.
Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, stated: “There is renewed confidence and interest in our region. That’s why we’re heading to MIPIM armed with £11 bn (€13.2 bn) worth of genuine, investible opportunities—from the transformation of Liverpool’s North Docks through a new Mayoral Development Corporation to major regeneration around Central Station, Health Innovation Liverpool, and the continued growth of our life sciences and innovation campuses. We’re looking for long-term partners who share that ambition.”
