Lysara secures long‑term operating agreements across UK car park portfolio

The 30 assets form part of Lysara’s wider UK and European transport infrastructure platform, comprising around 20,000 parking spaces. The transition follows Lysara’s exercise of break options on former NCP leases.

The new operating structure strengthens income quality and covenant strength, while supporting a renewed focus on customer experience through enhanced service standards, targeted investment and technology upgrades. The arrangements also preserve Lysara’s flexibility to integrate high‑speed EV charging over time, positioning the portfolio to meet future demand from drivers and fleet operators as electrification accelerates.

The 20 car parks leased to Q‑Park will operate under the Q‑Park and Britannia Parking brands. Q‑Park manages more than 5,300 facilities and over one million spaces across the UK and seven European countries, and has invested heavily in technology and facility upgrades in recent years. With reported operating profit of more than £370 million, Q‑Park brings scale, operating expertise and strong covenant support to the portfolio.

Apex Parking, an established partner of Lysara, will manage 10 additional sites under management agreements. Lysara has retained these assets under a management model to capture margin potential and maintain operational flexibility, enabling the platform to benefit from asset‑level performance improvements.

Scott Parsons, CEO of Lysara, said the transition strengthens the resilience and long‑term value of the portfolio, while preserving flexibility to integrate new services such as EV charging. He described the agreements as a strong example of Lysara’s approach to combining disciplined asset management with deep operator relationships.

Adam Bidder, Managing Director UK & Ireland at Q‑Park, said the agreement marks a significant expansion of Q‑Park’s UK city‑centre portfolio and provides access to locations where the operator has not previously been active.

Guy Watson, Managing Director at Apex Parking, said the expanded partnership will allow Apex to drive further performance improvements across well‑located assets through active management and a strong customer proposition.
Lysara was advised by Fried Frank and Shoosmiths.
