Mapfre Inmuebles acquires iconic Madrid office building

Mapfre Inmuebles, Mapfre Group's alternative asset investment division, has purchased the prominent Ombú Building in Méndez Álvaro, Madrid.

The Ombú Building offers over 14,000 m2 of space, including a main and a secondary building, plus more than 240 parking spots. Notably, it boasts 12,000 m2 of integrated green spaces and has been completely renovated by Norman Foster's studio to achieve top-tier sustainability and energy efficiency standards.
Currently leased by EA Sports, the property benefits from its strategic location in Méndez Álvaro. This area is experiencing rapid growth, featuring excellent transport links, proximity to Atocha Station, and serving as a hub for major Spanish companies in technology and creative industries.

This latest acquisition of the Ombú Building follows another recent purchase in Madrid by Mapfre RE: a nine-story building on Calle de María de Molina, 54, in the Salamanca district, acquired in late July.
Beyond these recent Madrid investments, Mapfre Inmuebles has been actively diversifying its European portfolio since 2018. The company partners with leading European firms to acquire prime assets in major capital cities across the continent.
