Matter Real Estate’s Velkomn expands Danish home rental portfolio

Danish single-family rental specialist Velkomn is significantly expanding its portfolio, now valued at £316 mln (€363 mln).

The latest acquisition of three residential sites in Zealand near Copenhagen will add 132 houses to Velkomn’s growing inventory, bringing their total to 1,143 units.
Construction is slated to begin in late 2025, with a focus on sustainability, as all homes will be built to DGNB Gold standards.
Founded in 2023 by Matter Real Estate and the former CEO of HD Ejendomme, Peter Uldall Borch, Velkomn aims to address the rising need for family-sized rental properties in Denmark.
Their first 153-unit project in Haslev saw massive interest, highlighting the high demand for this type of housing.
This expansion follows Velkomn's 2024 acquisition of 667 homes across Denmark from Birch Ejendomme.
