LaSalle IM is reorganising its leadership, with Matthew Sgrizzi taking over as fund manager for LaSalle Encore+ starting 1 April 2026.

Matthew Sgrizzi
Sgrizzi, currently the CIO and portfolio manager of LaSalle Securities, will be moving into this new role, opening up advancement opportunities within the Securities team.
This transition follows current fund manager David Ironside's decision in 2025 to plan his succession. Ironside will move to the role of chairman of LaSalle Encore+ in 2026 after Sgrizzi assumes his new position. Sgrizzi brings 23 years of experience and a strong record of investment performance from his time leading LaSalle Securities.
To ensure a smooth handover for LaSalle Encore+ clients, Sgrizzi will relocate to LaSalle's Paris office in August 2026 and work closely with Ironside through a detailed transition period extending into 2027. Sgrizzi will report to Philip La Pierre, head of Europe for LaSalle Investment Management.
In related moves, Paul Meierdierck will be promoted to CIO, portfolio manager of LaSalle Securities, recognising his 18 years of service and strong investment performance. Chris Battista, with 15 years at the firm, will become head of Product & Strategy for LaSalle Securities, formalising his role in aligning investment processes, research, and product offerings with client goals. Both Meierdierck and Battista will report to Lisa Kaufman, head of LaSalle Global Solutions.
Matthew Sgrizzi, incoming fund manager, LaSalle Encore+, said: “I’m excited to bring my experience to LaSalle Encore+, one of our flagship European products. Working with David Ironside and the exceptional team will ensure a comprehensive transition while positioning the fund for continued success. This opportunity allows me to contribute to LaSalle’s growth while applying my capital markets expertise to direct investment management.”
Philip La Pierre, head of Europe, LaSalle IM, commented: “Matt’s appointment represents a strategic investment in LaSalle Encore+’s leadership. His proven track record and institutional knowledge, combined with David Ironside’s extensive transition support and our strong existing team, position LaSalle Encore+ excellently for its next phase of growth. I want to thank David for his outstanding leadership throughout his tenure and commitment to ensuring a seamless transition for our clients.”
Lisa Kaufman, head of LaSalle Global Solutions, added: “Matt has had an exceptional career at LaSalle Securities, and we are so grateful for his contributions over the last 23 years. While we’ll miss Matt’s investment leadership, this transition creates exciting opportunities for Paul and Chris to step into enhanced roles. Our Securities business remains strong, with a market-leading bench of experienced Portfolio Managers and a disciplined investment framework that ensures continued excellence.”
