The Wangen-Brüttisellen municipal assembly approved the development plan of Swiss real estate company Mobimo for a new mixed-use neighbourhood.

Torfmatt - Mobimo
Situated on the former 16,000 m2 Erni industrial estate, the site lies between Brüttisellen’s village centre and Dietlikon railway station in the canton of Zurich. Mobimo, which acquired the land in 2021, intends to transform this largely vacant industrial zone into a vibrant urban hub.
The master plan includes 300 apartments, ranging from 1.5 to 5.5 rooms, around 5,000 m2 of modern office, retail and business space. Additionally, a central, landscaped area is designed to enhance local biodiversity and provide high-quality communal space.
The neighbourhood will consist of eight interconnected buildings designed to create a permeable urban fabric.
The project was designed by KCAP in partnership with Studio Vulkan (landscape architects) and a team of specialists. This collaboration previously proved successful with Mobimo’s Aeschbachquartier in Aarau.
Construction of the first six buildings is scheduled to begin in autumn 2028, with an estimated completion date in spring 2031. The remaining buildings and site elements will follow thereafter. Once completed, the Torfmatt project is expected to revitalise the district, offering significant benefits to the wider community.
