Montano Real Estate appoints new head of Asset Management

German commercial real estate investor Montano Real Estate has named Niklas Baldauf as its new head of Asset Management.

Baldauf brings over 15 years of experience in the real estate sector, including previous roles as director of Asset Management at Accumulata Real Estate Management and head of Asset Management Retail Northern Europe at Nuveen Real Estate. He also held positions at Allianz Real Estate and Clarendon Asset Management. His expertise spans asset and portfolio management, repositioning, and development, with a focus on establishing and restructuring asset management operations and implementing complex leasing and repositioning strategies.

In this new role, Baldauf will be responsible for advancing Montano's integrated asset management platform, emphasising a streamlined, digitally-supported, and scalable approach throughout the real estate lifecycle, as well as optimising returns and cost structures.

Julius Falcinelli, the former head of Asset Management, will transition to an Executive Director role and an expanded position on the Executive Board, with new responsibilities for managing existing clients and corporate finance across the Montano group.
