This strategic move aims to accelerate growth, improve coordination, and increase the impact of Newsec's investment management services across the Nordic and Baltic regions.
This is intended to address the rising investor demand for cross-border strategies, scalable structures, and long-term real estate investments throughout the value chain.
Morten Kampli will be responsible for driving growth, strengthening coordination, and scaling Newsec's investment management capabilities across the region. He will collaborate with local market leaders and specialist teams to expand capacity, ensure consistency across markets, and support institutional and professional investors with complex, multi-market investment strategies.
Kampli brings significant experience from senior roles in investment management and real assets, particularly from Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), where he managed unlisted real estate from 2015 to 2025. His background also includes roles at McKinsey & Company and other senior positions in the real estate industry. He is recognised for his ability to develop scalable investment structures that combine strategic vision with effective local execution.
Max Barclay, CEO of Newsec, stated: “Large investors are increasingly seeking partners that can combine scale, consistency, and strong local execution across the Nordic and Baltic region. By establishing a pan-Nordic and Baltic leadership role for Investment Management, we are taking a decisive step in scaling our presence and strengthening our value proposition to institutional clients. Mortens experience and leadership will be key in driving growth and further developing our investment management capabilities.”
Morten Kampli, head of Investment Management Newsec, added: “Newsec has a unique opportunity to further scale its investment management platform by leveraging its strong local presence, transaction capabilities, and deep expertise across real assets. My focus will be on building a more integrated and scalable offer that enables clients to invest efficiently across borders, while creating long-term value through high-quality asset management in real assets.”
