The scheme will serve as a new regional site for the Nagel Group, one of Europe’s leading food logistics providers.
Construction will begin in October 2026 on the 90,510 sqm plot with completion and handover scheduled for December 2027.
Nagel Group CEO Lars‑Erik Poths said: “The new logistics centre in Bremen is an investment in the future of the foodstuffs logistics industry. The new site will unite state‑of‑the‑art logistics processes with a sustainable energy concept and will create a foundation for further growth.”
Fred‑Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni DACH & Nordics, added: “Close cooperation allowed us to develop a concept in the early planning phase that is optimally customised for the Nagel Group’s requirements and meets high sustainability standards.”
Kristina Vogt, Senator for the Economy, Ports and Transformers, welcomed the project, noting that around 400 new jobs, including 20 trainee positions will be created. She highlighted the scheme’s fossil‑fuel‑free heating and solar‑powered energy system as setting “standards with regard to climate protection.”
GVZ Bremen is one of Europe’s most powerful logistics hubs, offering trimodal connectivity via road, rail and water. The site benefits from proximity to the A281, A1 and A27 motorways, Bremen Airport, and major northern ports including Bremerhaven, Wilhelmshaven and Hamburg.
