Upon FINMA approval, Patrimonium Asset Management will take over as the fund management company and asset manager for the listed Sustainable Real Estate Switzerland fund, which holds approximately CHF 475 mln (€492 mln) in assets. SRES primarily invests in 30 sustainable residential properties across Switzerland and is part of the Swiss Sustainable Real Estate Index.
Furthermore, this deal means Patrimonium will also inherit SRE's partnership with German firm Quadoro Investment. SRE currently acts as a distribution partner and sustainability adviser for three of Quadoro's open-ended real estate funds, which collectively manage around €785 mln.
Sustainable Real Estate manages collective assets, providing comprehensive real estate services to pension funds and institutional clients.
Patrimonium Asset Management manages over CHF 5 bn (€5.18 bn) in assets across various classes, with more than CHF 3.7 bn (€3.83 bn) in Swiss real estate alone. It manages the listed Patrimonium Swiss Real Estate Fund and operates its own residential real estate fund in Germany.
This acquisition will allow Sustainable Real Estate Investments SICAV to benefit from significant cost efficiencies in property management, development, and construction. Patrimonium will leverage SRE's sustainability expertise to further strengthen its market presence. The companies will also explore potential synergies and the possibility of combining their currently separate real estate portfolios.
In Germany, Patrimonium will assume the existing long-term advisory and distribution agreements with Quadoro Investment, covering approximately €785 mln in assets.
Christoph Syz, CEO and co-founder of Patrimonium Asset Management, said: “The acquisition of Sustainable Real Estate creates interesting synergies and efficiency gains for both companies and strengthens our position in the real estate market, particularly in German-speaking Switzerland.”
Klaus Kämpf and Marco Scheurer, managing directors of Sustainable Real Estate, added: “We are very pleased to contribute, together with our team and our expertise, to the joint success within the Patrimonium Group in the coming years.”
