Redevco expands IOS platform with Widnes acquisition
Redevco has expanded its UK logistics footprint with the acquisition of a 560,000 sq ft Industrial Outdoor Storage (IOS) facility in Widnes, taking its IOS platform to 5.2 million sq ft and €155 million assets under management (AUM) across 11 assets.

Widnes site
The 17‑acre site is fully leased to Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and operated by DHL, supporting supply chain operations for JLR’s Halewood manufacturing plant in the North West. The asset combines warehousing and vehicle maintenance functions, the latter covering 11% of the site and has recently been refurbished as a build‑to‑suit facility for the automotive manufacturer.
Located adjacent to the inland rail freight terminal, the Widnes site offers direct connectivity to key transport infrastructure, enabling efficient distribution and fleet management. Redevco said the acquisition reinforces its conviction in the IOS sector, where large‑scale, mission critical assets remain scarce due to planning constraints and limited land availability.
Hugh Macdonald‑Brown, Head of Redevco Logistics, said the asset is “a strong addition to our growing logistics platform,” noting that its scale, strategic location and tenant quality support “long‑term income resilience and future growth potential.”
The transaction adds to Redevco’s growing pan‑European IOS strategy. To date, the firm has transacted more than €500 million in IOS assets across the UK, Germany, Spain and Belgium, spanning over 16 million sq ft. Redevco continues to deploy capital into a sector characterised by strong demand fundamentals, constrained supply and near‑term rental growth potential.
The acquisition also aligns with Redevco’s broader ambition to build a diversified European platform across logistics, retail parks and real estate debt.
