RQI Immobilien AG has expanded its senior leadership team with the appointment of Ertan Isen, who joins RQI RE.Structuring Solutions GmbH as Spokesman for the management board and takes on a dual role as executive director at the holding company.

Ertan Isen
He will oversee project structuring and the design of complex property, financing and investment structures as the business scales its restructuring and transaction capabilities.
Isen brings more than 15 years of international legal and real estate experience. He previously served as managing director and group general counsel at the ACRON Group in Luxembourg, where he established and managed a property investment platform comprising around 30 subsidiaries, seven single‑asset AIFs and a securitisation platform with approximately €300 million in assets under management. His responsibilities included complex acquisitions and disposals, financing and joint‑venture negotiations, and regulatory and compliance oversight.
RQI’s expansion of its management team reflects the company’s rapid growth in restructuring and complex property transactions. The business has completed around €900 million of restructuring work through two major mandates linked to the Signa insolvency, alongside two additional restructuring‑related acquisitions totalling approximately €100 million. With banks and insolvency practitioners facing a growing wave of NPL‑related property exposures, RQI is positioning itself to meet rising demand.
Professor Dr Nico B. Rottke, CEO of the holding company, said restructuring is becoming an increasingly important pillar of RQI’s business. He noted that while current NPL volumes of around €50 billion remain manageable, future problem‑ridden exposures estimated at roughly six times that figure will need to be addressed over the next five years. He described Isen as uniquely combining legal expertise, capital markets experience and deep sector knowledge, strengthening RQI’s ability to support stakeholders through this cycle.
Isen said RQI differentiates itself through a data‑driven approach, offering quantitative proposals for value recovery and illustrating these through its proprietary value‑recovery matrix. He emphasised that “wait and see and lose money” is not a viable strategy, highlighting RQI’s structured diagnostic process and strategic advisory capabilities, as well as its ability to implement value‑creation plans directly on the asset.
The appointment forms part of RQI’s broader organisational development. Since entering the market in January 2024, the Group has expanded its services across investment, listed‑building expertise, asset management and restructuring. Strengthening the management structure is intended to support closer integration across business lines and underpin long‑term growth.
