Sampension has invested over DKK 500 mln (€67 mln) in a newly constructed residential building in Copenhagen's Ørestad district.

Marthahus

This marks the Danish life insurance company’s largest property investment in 2025.
The property, named Marthahus, features 154 rental apartments spanning 12,292 m² and is situated within the Bellakvarter, a sustainably developed urban area near Bella Center International.
Bellakvarter, co-owned by Sampension and AkademikerPension and developed in partnership with Solstra, is the first urban area in Denmark to receive DGNB Gold sustainability certification, a distinction also independently awarded to Marthahus.
Torbjørn Lange, head of Properties and Infrastructure at Sampension, said: "It is very pleasing that with our largest property investment so far this year, we can now add Marthahus to our portfolio of well-located residential properties. It is a newly built quality property that we know very well and is located in an attractive area where there is high tenant demand. At the same time, we believe that optimizing the sustainability certification for our newly built properties contributes to creating the best possible returns over time.”
Mette Kapsch, director of Solstra Development, added: “We are proud of Marthahus, which, with its central location in front of the metro and the shopping square, has been very well received by the residents of the neighborhood. Now we are looking forward to building more homes in the northern part of Bellakvarter soon and thus completing the entire area.”
The development plan for Bellakvarter was conceived by Solstra in collaboration with COBE and Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter, while Praksis Arkitekter designed Marthahus, and V8 Construction served as the general contractor.
