Scannell Properties acquires Italian site for logistics hub

Logistics real estate firm Scannell Properties has purchased a 35,000 m2 plot in Marudo, Lombardy, Italy.

They plan to construct a 15,700 m2 build-to-suit logistics facility for TD SYNNEX, a major global IT distributor.

Strategically located near the A1 motorway and Milan, the site offers access to over 30 million consumers within a three-hour drive. The new facility, with a 12-metre internal height and 5 t/sq m floor capacity, will boost TD SYNNEX's warehousing and distribution capabilities, enhancing its service in Italian and European markets.

Both companies are committed to sustainability, with the Class A facility aiming for BREEAM Excellent certification. It will include energy-efficient features such as a Building Management System, solar panels, air source heat pumps, and LED lighting. Engineering 2K is the general contractor, with construction expected to finish later this year.
