He will take over from current CEO Frank Pörschke within the next year, with a planned transition period to ensure a smooth handover.
Carter brings a wealth of experience, having most recently served as CEO of UK commercial property company British Land, where he spent 18 years. Carter's tenure at British Land began in 2004, and after a period away at Quintain Estates & Development and European logistics real estate company Logicor, he returned in 2018 as CFO before becoming CEO in 2020.
He has a 12-month notice period, and British Land's Board will begin the search for his replacement.
Tay Lim Hock, chair of P3, said: “The Board is pleased to appoint Simon Carter as P3’s next CEO. Simon has an exemplary track record in strategic leadership and his deep expertise in the real estate sector. We are confident that Simon will propel P3 to new heights, driving sustained growth and value for our stakeholders. I would also like to express my thanks to Frank for his dedication to P3 over the past five years, during which he has guided the business through a period of growth and market volatility."
Simon Carter commented on his appointment: “I am honoured to join P3 Logistic Parks during such a pivotal time in its growth journey. P3 has had remarkable success as a leading European logistics real estate platform, and I am looking forward to working alongside its talented team and the shareholders to further build on this foundation. Together, we will continue to deliver high-quality solutions for our customers and position the company for long-term success.”
Frank Pörschke, CEO of P3, said: “It has been a privilege to lead P3 through a period of sustained growth, navigating a challenging and fast-changing market environment while continuing to strengthen the platform for the long term. I am proud of what we have achieved together as a team and remain fully committed to supporting a smooth transition and the continued success of the business. I am very grateful to our shareholder, GIC, for their trust and long-term support throughout my tenure.”
