In Kraków, Skanska is investing PLN 241 mln (approximately €55.5 mln) in the initial phase of Awangarda Mogilska, a new residential complex designed to offer a sustainable and convenient urban living experience near the city centre. The construction contract for this phase is valued at PLN 143 mln (around €33 mln). The first phase will feature 278 apartments and six commercial spaces, prioritizing sustainability through features such as photovoltaic panels, a heat recovery system with heat pump for water heating, a rooftop solar power plant, anti-smog ventilation, and smart home solutions for remote control of utilities.
Construction is slated to begin in August 2025 and finish in March 2028. The overall Awangarda Mogilska project consists of three phases and will offer approximately 500 apartments upon completion.
Meanwhile, in Prague, Skanska is investing CZK 1.2 bn (approximately €49 mln) in the third phase of Modransky cukrovar, a residential project focused on low-impact living. The construction contract for this phase is valued at CZK 898 mln (around €37 mln). This phase will add 132 low-energy apartments in four buildings, incorporating sustainable elements like high energy efficiency, recycled materials, and comprehensive blue, green, and grey infrastructure, aiming for a BREEAM Excellent rating.
A key feature will be a large, central 3,700 m2 square, complemented by a relaxation zone, an open-air pavilion, and art installations by Czech sculptors chosen through the Art.Cukrovar competition. The overall Modransky cukrovar project, delivered in six phases, will comprise approximately 800 homes. Construction of the third phase commences in August 2025 and is scheduled for completion in 2028.
