Nordic real estate investment firm Slättö has appointed Laura Barstow as managing director of Capital Formation.

Laura Barstow
Based in London, Barstow will focus on attracting international investors to the Nordic market, which Slättö believes is entering an attractive new phase after a period of correction.
Barstow brings 18 years of experience in private markets from her previous roles at Brookfield and Nuveen, and has a strong track record of working with diverse institutional investors globally.
Slättö specialises in thematic strategies in Nordic residential, logistics, and light industrial sectors, and has consistently achieved market-leading returns.
The Nordic real estate market is now in a recovery phase following a significant downturn in European real estate. Yields are stabilising and becoming more competitive, and market liquidity is improving. This environment, coupled with growing interest from international investors, suggests an opportune time to invest in Nordic real estate, recognising the region's inherent stability and potential for growth.
Laura Barstow, managing director, Capital Formation at Slättö, said: “I am delighted to be joining a business that is both truly local and deeply entrepreneurial. Slättö’s combination of on-the-ground expertise, thematic strategies and strong execution makes it, in my view, a compelling partner for global investors to access the attractive Nordic market.”
Jonas Andersson, deputy managing partner at Slättö, added: “Slättö is the natural choice for investors seeking alpha returns and a targeted exposure to the Nordics within value-add and core plus strategies, and we are increasingly attracting a global investor base. Laura’s experience from leading global managers will be an important addition to the team in our efforts to cooperate even more closely with both current and new clients.”
Slättö manages a diverse real estate portfolio across Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. This portfolio includes approximately 9,000 residential apartments covering about 476,000 m2, along with over 100 logistics and light industrial properties totalling roughly 384,000 m2. Additionally, Slättö's funds are involved in significant development projects, with approximately 133,000 m2 for residential and 403,000 m2 for logistics and light industrial, as well as investments in hotels and social infrastructure.
