This marks the second deal for Supernova Group in Italy after the 16,000 m2 La Scaglia shopping mall in Civitavecchia.
Casetta Mattei is situated in a well-connected, densely populated area in southwestern Rome, easily accessible by both car and public transportation. The mall boasts a high 98% occupancy rate across its 15,348 m2 of gross leasable area, housing over 45 retail units.
The mall, which attracts approximately 1.9 million visitors annually, benefits from its surroundings, which include residential areas, businesses, educational institutions, and nearby recreational and green spaces.
Markus Pinggera, managing director of Supernova Group, commented: “The acquisition of the Casetta Mattei shopping mall represents an important step in the implementation of our growth strategy in the Italian market. Our ambition is to further boost its competitiveness through targeted investment, optimisation of supply, and strengthening relationships with tenants. A special focus will be placed on sustainability, digital transformation, and customer experience improvement, thus creating a long-term value for all stakeholders – from visitors and tenants to the local community.”
The Austrian-based Supernova Group specializes in the development and management of commercial real estate, with a primary focus on Austria, Croatia, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Supernova's portfolio encompasses over 120 retail properties, valued at a total of €2.1 bn.
JLL Retail Capital Markets advised Supernova Group on the acquisition.
