Supernova Group expands Slovak shopping centre portfolio

Austria-based shopping centre operator Supernova Group has expanded its presence in Slovakia by acquiring MAX shopping centers in Žilina and Dunajská Streda.

The seller was Euromax Slovakia, a developer of shopping centres in Slovakia under the MAX brand.
Located in Slovakia’s fourth largest city, MAX Žilina boasts over 18,000 m² of leasable space, attracting around 2 million visitors annually with more than 65 stores anchored by tenants like Cinemax and JYSK. 
MAX Dunajská Streda, located in a thriving regional centre, features 9,600 m² and attracts 1.2 million visitors each year. It hosts over 45 stores from brands like Sinsay, New Yorker, Pepco, and CCC.
This acquisition brings Supernova's total number of MAX centers in Slovakia to six, solidifying its position as a major player in the Slovak shopping centre market, which it entered in 2016.

Supernova entered the Slovak market in 2016 with OBI stores and significantly expanded its portfolio in 2022 by acquiring four MAX shopping centres in Trnava, Trenčín, Nitra, and Poprad, adding over 60,000 m2 of retail space.
