The Social Hub launches €114m regeneration project in Rome

UK-based hybrid hospitality pioneer The Social Hub has launched a €114 mln regeneration project in Rome's San Lorenzo district, revitalizing a former railway customs house.

The Social Hub Rome

The new 24,000 m2 complex will consist of three buildings, including a 396-room four-star hotel with short and extended stay options, an indoor-outdoor event venue, and the Accademia Italiana, a design and applied arts institute.
The complex will include a 10,000 m2 public park, co-working spaces, restaurants, a rooftop pool and cocktail bar, and a partnership with the popular Berberè pizzeria.
This hybrid hospitality model aims to foster a sense of community with over 600 events planned annually.
The project incorporates sustainable practices, earning a BREEAM "Excellent" rating, and has created over 50 local jobs.
Charlie MacGregor, founder & CEO of The Social Hub, said: “When we started The Social Hub movement, our aim was to create unique and special places that bring people to communities and neighbourhoods and help them to grow and thrive. This project embodies that to the letter. It’s an example of how the hospitality industry has the power to think big and be truly innovative, rethinking the relationship between spaces, neighbourhoods, and the people who live and visit them.”
The Social Hub Rome, located in one of the Italian capital’s most exciting creative areas, is minutes away from Rome’s main train station and the city centre. It marks The Social Hub's fourth Italian location and exemplifies how hospitality can drive urban renewal.
