Tungsten Properties has acquired a 6.9-hectare plot of land in East Anglia and secured planning permission to construct a new 27,870 m2 logistics facility.

Latham
The facility will be used as a national distribution center (NDC) by Latham Ltd, a major distributor of timber and decorative surfaces. The company sought Tungsten's expertise to find a suitable East Anglian location for their new facility, crucial for handling timber imports.
The new NDC will be a modern, energy-efficient building designed to BREEAM Excellent and EPC A standards, featuring 15-metre eaves, 24 loading doors, and office space.
Tungsten Properties will manage the development, with Glencar Construction beginning work in September 2025 and aiming for completion by summer 2026.
This £38.5 mln (€44.5 mln) project is expected to create around 100 construction jobs and 30 operational roles.
Piers Latham, director, Latham’s Ltd said: “This is the biggest investment in Latham Ltd’s 268-year history. It will facilitate growth, supplying all our 13 depots nationally while creating jobs in the East Anglia region. Ian and his team at Tungsten were challenged with finding us a suitable site to develop and came back with an excellent solution.”
Ian Dunckley, development director, Tungsten Properties, said: “We are very pleased to have secured the land and planning consent in East Anglia on behalf of Lathams Ltd. We are looking forward to delivering their state-of-the-art new national distribution centre in a strategic location as they continue their impressive business growth.”
Based in Hemel Hempstead, Lathams operates 13 facilities around the UK and Ireland, which employ more than 600 people.
Wedlake Bell represented Lathams Ltd, while Dan Harness of Coke Gearing advised Tungsten. The professional team for Tungsten Properties included HTC Architects, Goodrich Consulting, PRP Consulting Engineers, The Engineering Practice, and Eddison Planning.
