Veidekke secures major residential project in Bergen

Veidekke has partnered with Selvaag Bolig to kickstart the S46 residential development in Sandsli, south of Bergen, Norway.

This initial phase involves constructing 96 apartments across three buildings, complete with a shared underground parking facility, under a design-and-build contract worth NOK 280 mln (€24.3 mln).
The S46 development promises residents a tranquil, nature-proximate environment while maintaining easy access to essential amenities like light rail, shops, gyms, and workplaces. A central community square, featuring green spaces, playgrounds, and social areas, will be a focal point between the buildings.
Construction is slated to begin in March and conclude by December 2027. Ultimately, Veidekke's agreement with Selvaag Bolig encompasses building a total of 206 homes, including apartment blocks, point houses, and terraced houses, with future phases commencing as sales progress.
Hans Aakre, district manager at Veidekke Bygg Bergen, stated: “This is a great project situated on an elevated site in Sandsliåsen. We will be creating a vibrant neighbourhood with terraced houses and apartments surrounding – and partially built on top of – a new parking structure. We appreciate the trust placed in us and look forward to working closely with Selvaag Bolig throughout the project.” 
Christian Geithus, regional director in Bergen, added: “Selvaag Bolig is pleased to appoint Veidekke as contractor for this project. We have had good experiences from previous collaborations and look forward to working together again. This will be our fourth development at Sandsli, and we need to deliver homes we can be proud of – where Veidekke will be a key contributor.”
