VGP Italy acquires development in Reggio Emilia for logistics park

Pan-European logistics park owner, operator and developer VGP has acquired a new development site in Gavassa, on the outskirts of Reggio Emilia, in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region.

This strategic acquisition marks the launch of VGP Park Reggio Emilia Gavassa, representing the Group's inaugural business park in the province of Reggio Emilia and its sixth overall within the Emilia-Romagna region.

In this area of Italy, VGP already operates five other parks: VGP Park Valsamoggia and VGP Park Valsamoggia 2 in the Bologna province, alongside VGP Park Parma Lumière, VGP Park Parma Paradigna, and VGP Park Parma Morse in the Parma area.

The new VGP Park Reggio Emilia Gavassa benefits from a prime location, situated approximately 8 kilometres from the city centre and just 10 km from the A1 motorway. This critical artery serves as the main connection between Milan and Bologna and is one of Italy's most vital transport routes.

The site is slated for the construction of four distinct buildings with the largest featuring a covered area of approximately 64,000 m2.

The site is already fully serviced with essential infrastructure, including existing tree-lined public parking, a main electrical substation, and underground utilities. In keeping with VGP’s standard development approach, the project integrates extensive green spaces and focuses heavily on landscape integration.

In line with the majority of VGP’s portfolio, the new buildings will be equipped with rooftop solar panels, providing tenants with direct access to on-site renewable energy.

VGP has developed a network of eleven business parks across the Lombardy, Veneto, and Emilia-Romagna regions. This portfolio comprises a total of over 890,000 m² of freehold land and approximately 243,000 m² of GLA.
