The Supervisory Board of Vonovia SE has unanimously appointed Katja Wünschel as the company's new chief development officer (CDO).

She will join Vonovia on 1 April 2026, and officially assume her Executive Board position on 1 June 2026.
Wünschel will succeed Daniel Riedl, who will depart from the Vonovia Board on 31 May 2026, after a two-month handover period.
Katja Wünschel brings over two decades of experience in the energy sector, both in Germany and internationally. Since 2022, she has served as CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, a company focused on developing, building, and operating onshore wind and solar farms. Before this, from 2019, she was COO at RWE Renewables.
Wünschel began her career at Bayer Group in 1999, moving to E.ON in 2002. Her roles at E.ON included positions in the Czech Republic and, from 2008, leadership roles in renewable energies, such as director of Strategy & Business Development, director of Global Engineering, and director of Wind Onshore Europe, where she oversaw the planning, construction, and operation of wind farms.
In other news, Vonovia's Supervisory Board has also extended the contract of chief human resources officer (CHRO) Ruth Werhahn ahead of schedule, securing her role until 30 September 2029.
Since October 2023, Werhahn has overseen Human Resources, Vonovia Technical Service, IT, and Central Services.
