Walker & Dunlop boosts European team with Patrick Smith hire

Walker & Dunlop's recently established London capital markets team has appointed Patrick Smith as director of EMEA Capital Markets.

Smith brings over ten years of real estate finance expertise from both Europe and the U.S. to his new role, where he will advise on commercial real estate debt and back-leverage across the UK and Europe.
Reporting to Claudio Sgobba, senior managing director and head of EMEA Capital Markets for Walker & Dunlop's London team, Smith's hiring further strengthens the firm's strategic expansion into European markets earlier this year.
Smith's background includes structuring and executing commercial real estate loan-on-loan facilities at NatWest Markets and sourcing asset-level financing for institutional and private equity sponsors at JLL's EMEA Debt and Structured Finance team. He also held positions in CMBS trading and structuring, and multifamily loan origination at U.S. firms such as Greystone, Barclays, and Morgan Stanley.
