WDP earns €60m from logistics disposals in Netherlands and Romania

Belgian logistics real estate specialist WDP is divesting two industrial properties, totalling approximately 61,000 m² of lettable area, to end-users for around €60 mln.

The Duiven site in the Netherlands was sold in May 2026 to support FedEx's expansion of its nearby European road hub, while the Romanian transaction is expected to close in Q3 2026. Both properties will be integrated directly into the operations of their respective buyers to support their regional growth.

These disposals highlight WDP's effective capital rotation strategy, yielding an impressive average unlevered Internal Rate of Return (IRR) exceeding 20% and a sale price 30% above the latest fair value. This move marks the completion of these assets' lifecycle, as their value creation potential has been fully realised, and further portfolio management benefits are limited.

Including a €35 mln disposal in Liège, Belgium, at the end of 2025, WDP now has nearly €100 mln in proceeds available for reinvestment. This capital will be strategically redeployed into new development and investment opportunities, aiming for attractive risk-adjusted returns. This approach will support the continued expansion of WDP's European platform while maintaining its focus on earnings per share (EPS)-accretive growth.

CEO Joost Uwents commented: “These transactions demonstrate our ability to create and crystallise value through active portfolio management. Going forward, our scale enables WDP to selectively recycle capital into new opportunities at attractive risk-adjusted returns, supporting our focus on above-average earnings per share growth while maintaining our disciplined, below-average risk profile.”
